Online Marketing & Social Media Lunchtime Session

2nd July 2010, 12midday - 2pm approx

Chapter, Cardiff

WMF are hosting an Online Marketing & Social Media Lunchtime Session, headed by Carl Morris of Cardiff-based Native HQ.

Being online is very important for your music business for many reasons:

Staying up-to-date with the industry, finding contacts and of course gathering fans. But with so much music available online and a finite amount of time for fans to discover it, the web has been described as an "attention economy".

In this session, Carl Morris will give some insights into web culture and practical things you can do to straightaway. This will include guidance on the usefulness of various technologies and services to record labels and emerging artists.

Questions include:

* Why should anyone care about my bands?

* How do I find and connect to fans - and it is it possible to retain them these days?

* How should I manage the time and resources I put into my online activity - to get a good return on my investment?

Free to attend, with buffet included.

Spaces are very limited

Notes will be provided as follow-up, so, laptop not essential.
