Leigh Phillips - Reel Music
Biography
Leigh Phillips, is an experienced composer/orchestrator with numerous credits to his name. In 1998 he became one of publishing house Wright & Round LTD's youngest best-selling arrangers and has since gone on to produce many exciting scores for animations, short features, documentaries, theatrical productions, television promos, and trailers.
His score for the urban thriller 'The Interrogation' is available to buy/download from CD Baby and iTunes along with a compilation CD of various theatre scores and the original score for the horror feature 'The Legend Trip'.
In 2004 Leigh reconstructed & orchestrated the score from Bryan Singer's debut feature, Public Access, for composer John Ottman (Superman Returns) based on the original synthesised recordings . At the end of the same year he began a collaboration with Grammy-Award winning composer Joe Harnell, compiling and adapting his music from the TV series 'V' into a three-movement suite for orchestra & chorus; unfortunately Joe, who was enthusiastic about the results of their 'V' project, died in July '05 whilst working with Leigh on the plans for an updated suite of music from The Incredible Hulk TV series.
With a passion for the work of other composers Leigh is enthusiastic about film score preservation and has worked on several restoration projects, the most recent being a suite of music from Jerry Goldsmith's monolithic score for Omen III: The Final Conflict.
In 2006 Leigh was presented with the 'Jerry Goldsmith Award for Best Achievement in European Audio Visual Music/ Free Creation' at the International Film Music Festival in Ubeda
