Biography
Nigel has spent nearly thirty years as a performer, singer and drummer, and the last twenty of those also running his own professional multimedia and music production business.

Nigel’s long experience as a performer has given him a distinct advantage in the composition of music and audio for multimedia and picture, as he draws inspiration from a vast range of musical styles. His business experience has yielded a professional attitude and a respect for client deadlines, a rare quality among music creators and performers!

List of Work
In 1998 he wrote an orchestral signature tune for Newbury Live, a festival of arts and music held across the Berkshire town during one weekend. Later, he was engaged in writing an ambient drum ‘n’ bass track for a Honda Cars promo CD, commissioned to launch the S2000 sports model. The track was affectionately named ‘Fonda Honda’, and featured some breathy vocals from Lynn, Nigel’s wife.

One of his biggest commissions so far has been the theme music and soundscape to accompany a prelim CD for Eidos Games to launch their new version of TombRaider, the most successful computer game ever. “The music and sound effects which Nigel produced were about as close as is possible to the images I had in my mind while working on the graphic interface” says Andy Morton, Creative Director, Rufus Stone Design and Public Relations. “Tooting Car Man is his name for the theme music which has a stunningly authentic Egyptian flavour. Nigel has an uncanny talent for locking-in to the essence of any genre or style you care to give him”.

For another client, he wrote a spoof 1960s instrumental called ‘Cheesy Cinema’ to play as a navigation aid on an animated web site. It was written to sound like the background musak which might have been playing in Cinemas in the sixties, during the interval.

ScorpioSongs has recorded and produced five new audio programmes for MLP Training, an organisation which specialises in motivational audio and in sales management training. Mike Le Put, MLP's founder, works as a training consultant to many of the UK’s top companies and his audio programmes are used to motivate professionals throughout Europe, the USA, and the Far East. Both the identity music, the soundtracks and sleeve graphics were produced by Nigel.

Most recently, Nigel was commissioned by Dreamtree, a Mid Wales animation company, to design and produce a synchronised soundtrack for their short cartoon entitled ‘Wile on the Nile’. The production was for Welsh TV channel, S4C. The cartoon skillfully portrays the chaos which ensues when an unwelcome blowfly interrupts the lives of ancient Egyptian artisans and workers as they go about their daily chores, and features a convincing medley of ethnic music, buzzing flies, stone masons and a snake charmer.
