Biography
John Hardy is a long established composer who comfortably inhabits many different styles of work. John has been commissioned to write many choral and orchestral works for live performance as well as undertaking literally hundreds of musical projects for TV, film, radio, theatre and other multimedia applications. Musically, the company covers a wide variety of stylistic bases from lush large scale orchestral and choral works to quirky and innovative hip hop.

Winner of Best Original Music, BAFTA Cymru 2003 for Series 2 of the zany psychodrama series Fondue, Rhiw A Deinosors [Fondue, Sex & Dinosaurs]. Winner of Best Original Music, BAFTA Cymru 1994 for the Oscar-nominated,RTS Best Drama, & multi-BAFTA winning Welsh film Hedd Wyn. Nominated for Best Original Music nomination [for Triongl] BAFTA Cymru 2004.

John has scored many features, including the British commercial film Rancid Aluminium (staring Rhys Ifans, Steven Berkoff, Tara Fitzgerald  & Sadie Frost) in 2000 and the Oscar nominated Welsh film Hedd Wyn, which won the RTS best drama award, and a string of other awards.

A Mind To Kill - still showing around the world starring Philip Madoc as Inspector Bain, for Five, Pearson International, HTV-Carlton & S4C.

The five hour-long documentaries Egypt Uncovered for the Discovery Channel, France 5, S4C & seen around the world;  now released as a set of 3 DVD/ 3 VHS by Readers’ Digest, and playing again on Discovery/Times in  North America.

Under Milk Wood 90’ drama for BBC Radio 4’s 50th anniversary production, TX: Radio 4, Oct ’03. dir. Alison Hindell, starring the voice of Richard Burton [recorded 1963], with newly recorded voices of Sian Phillips, Matthew Rhys, Glyn Houston, John Humphrys, &  other Welsh stars.
